One of the most anticipated and attended events in the Howell community is the “First Responders Night” football game that recognizes our First Responders and military personnel while raising money for the Backstoppers. Each year, over 5,000 fans attend the game to celebrate our First Responders, military, and Howell community.
With the anticipated severe weather and rain ahead, the decision has been made to move the football game with Granite City to Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at Howell. Because of the importance and passion for supporting the First Responders Night, we have decided to postpone all festivities surrounding the evening to our home football game on October 12. By doing so, we will be able to give our First Responders and military personnel the recognition and celebration that they deserve for serving our community. The night is truly a community event and we do not want the attendance and experience for those involved to be affected by the inclement weather.
Below you can find important information regarding Thursday nights game. We look forward to recognizing all First Responders on October 12 in true Howell fashion!
Important Notes:
- The Friday (September 7) football game with Granite City has been moved to Thursday (September 6) due to anticipated severe weather. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
- First Responders, active military, Future Vikings, JR Vikings Football, and JR Vikings Cheerleaders will still be admitted free to the September 6 game.
- Special game ball deliver, dash for cash, and other events to raise funds for the Backstoppers will be postponed to the October 12 game. More information will be communicated at a later date regarding the 4th Annual First Responders Night game that will now be played on October 12.
