Jessie Altman Announced as New FHHS Assistant Principal

The Francis Howell School District has announced that Jessie Altman has been selected as a new assistant principal at Francis Howell High School, effective July 1, 2018. Altman is currently the Dean of Students at FHHS. She replaces Jessica DiPaolo, who has accepted a position in another school district.

As assistant principal at FHHS, Altman looks forward to continuing to develop positive relationships in the school community. “I am honored to work at FHHS,” said Altman. “And I am excited to be able to continue to work with our outstanding staff, students, and parents in this new role.”

Altman began her career as a communication arts teacher at FHHS in 2005. She was an FHHS Teacher of the Year nominee for the 2014-15 school year and was voted Best Teacher by the Suburban Journals in 2015. During her time as a teacher, Altman also served as a Student Council co-sponsor and PLC Leader. She has also worked as a summer school administrative Intern and instructional trainer, as well as participated in FHSD’s aspiring administrator’s program as a LEAP intern. For the past two years, she has served FHHS as the dean of students.

She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education – English from Southeast Missouri State University and master’s degree in school administration from Lindenwood University. She is currently working on her doctorate in educational administration at Maryville University.
