Journalism Awards 2020

Journalism has changed significantly over the years. As our world adapts to new forms of media, high school students in FHSD are rising to the challenge. Journalism students across the District have been awarded, named, and recognized for their great achievements this year by various journalism organizations, including the Missouri Journalism Education Association (MJEA), National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA), Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA), and Missouri Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA). Congratulations to these talented journalists!

“These students don’t put in all the time they do to win awards, but getting recognized definitely helps to show the impact and quality of what they’ve put so many hours of care and work into. We’re so proud of the members of our FHN crew who were named - definitely leaders and role models in the program.” – Jordyn Kiel, FHN Communication Arts Teacher

Their hard work only continues to raise the bar for the students who will come on the publications staff next year.” – Matthew Schott, FHC Publications Adviser
