On April 17, Francis Howell High School celebrated 33 student-athletes who will continue their academic and athletic careers in college. This group of seniors excelled at their respective sports while at FHHS, but also were dedicated to their education and their community. These seniors earned a cumulative GPA of 3.45 and raised over $150,000 for charities and volunteered over 50,000 hours for 75 different organizations over the past four years.
“A lot of times the focus is on what they do on the field, but I think the impressive thing is what they’ve done in the classroom,” said Activities Director Sean Erwin. “We want them to have success in the classroom, in their sport or activity, and then also in the community. This group embodies that and has done a good job representing Howell.”
Senior Beta Vondera shared how proud she is of her fellow classmates. “All of the hard work that we did has finally paid off. I know I feel good and I hope my classmates do, too.” In the past four years, 250 FHHS students have continued their education and sport at the college level. “It will be fun to watch this group of student-athletes continue to not only represent the college that they are going to but continue to represent Howell in a positive way,” said Erwin. Congratulations to the following Vikings:
