The Francis Howell School District has announced the hiring of Rachel Quintana as the new Dean of Students at Francis Howell High School. Quintana joins FHSD after teaching mathematics for the past five years at Hazelwood East High School.

With almost ten years of teaching experience, Quintana brings a strong skillset both inside and outside of the classroom. She has served as an in-school credit recovery coordinator, PBIS committee chair member, and a STEM-focused career path coach. She has also worked with math PLC teams to evaluate RTI and develop various methods of instruction to suit the needs and learning styles of different students.

In addition, Quintana has served as an administrative and superintendent intern, as well as an instructional coach for teachers. She oversaw the summer school program during her time at Hazelwood East High School where her responsibilities included everything from hiring staff to handling student discipline issues. Outside of the classroom, she supported the Hazelwood varsity cheer team as an assistant coach.

Quintana’s leadership skills and focus on supporting colleagues and students will be a great contribution to FHHS and the District as a whole. “I am grateful for this opportunity,” said Quintana. “I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, families, and the Howell community; as well as helping all students strive for and achieve success.”

Quintana has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, and both a master’s degree and a specialist degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University.
