Message from Assistant Principal Jon Schultz - End of Course Exam Schedule

Hello Viking families,

As I am sure you are aware, FHHS will be administering end of course exams beginning Monday, April 10.  Please see the letter from David Brothers below my signature, if you have specific questions about the state's assessment program.  This year, we will have a week of regular scheduling between the EOCs to give the ACT to all Juniors on April 19.  The second week of block scheduling will begin April 24.  We will give more than 2500 exams in three weeks. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we try to meet the statewide assessment expectations. Below you will find the tests given each week, the scheduled Howell Time Activities, and notes regarding the lunch schedule for the testing weeks.

Families are asked to make every effort to avoid missing school, or calling students out early for the next few weeks.  Students who regularly leave campus early for work program or dual enrollment will be required to stay through the end of the class period instead, of leaving at their normal time. Tech school students will receive specific information about their schedules.

If an absence is absolutely necessary, please be sure to call the attendance office at (636)-851-4849, well before the anticipated date and time that the student is needed.  If students are in state tests, we may not be able to get them immediately without invalidating their exams.

Dual Enrollment/Work Study/Tech School Students Leaving Campus:

The schedule has been arranged so that we will minimize the number of students missing class because of work, dual enrollment, or tech school.  Each student in Tech School met with Mrs. Fischer and knows the bus schedule.  Students will be responsible for all work they miss if they must leave early.   We would prefer students who leave early to remain in their classes, but if they are unable to stay we ask that you please call them out to approve their absence. Parents are allowed to call students out of class; however, we will not be able to get student from testing locations without invalidating their exams.

I hope this information will help our school have a successful and productive next few weeks despite the changes in our daily routine.

Thank you for your time and support,

Jon Schultz
