New Immunization Requirement for Incoming Eighth Graders and Seniors

Beginning with the 2016-17 school year, all eighth grade students and incoming high school seniors will be required to have the meningococcal (meningitis) vaccine. These immunizations are required by the State of Missouri prior to the start of school.

All incoming eighth grade students are required to have one dose of meningococcal vaccine. All incoming seniors will require TWO meningococcal immunizations, unless the first dose was administered after the age of 16 years old, in which case only one dose is required. Most juniors have received one dose and will require a second
dose before they start school next year.

Please provide your child’s school nurse with verification of immunization information prior to the start of the 2016-17 school year to avoid any unnecessary delays in your student attending school. Students who do not have immunizations as required by state law will not be permitted to attend school.
