FHSD to Host Second Annual Job Fair for Students

The FHSD Business Department is hosting the second annual Student Job Fair on May 3, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM, at Francis Howell Central. Students from FHHS, FHC, FHN, and FHU are invited to attend.

“We have several businesses calling us throughout the year, asking if we have students to fill various positions,” said Michael Freedline, Business teacher at FHN and event sponsor. In response to all of the requests, I thought it would be beneficial to everyone to hold a job fair where we could get the students and employers together.” The event is also used as a learning opportunity in Introduction to Business classes. Students get to work on resumes, job applications, and interviewing skills that can be put to use during the event and in life after school.

Last year’s job fair was well attended, with over 350 students meeting with potential employers. Over forty area businesses will be looking to hire students ages 16 and older for full-time, part-time, seasonal employment, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Students from all FHSD high schools are welcome to attend. Please plan on filling out applications at the event, as well as performing on-site interviews. Professional dress is strongly encouraged. A designated area with tables and laptops will be available for students to complete applications.
