Francis Howell Students Compete in SkillsUSA District Competition

Twenty-one Francis Howell School District students from the Lewis & Clark Career Center have earned the right to compete at the SkillsUSA Missouri State Leadership and Skills Conference. Competing recently at the District level, the students from FHHS, FHC, and FHN were challenged to a variety of technical, hands-on, written, and oral events. The competition showcases students’ technical and career-oriented education.

A total of 15 medals were awarded to FHSD students (7 first place, 2 second place, and 6 third place). All students who placed first or second are automatically eligible to compete at the state level. In some competitions, third place winners also qualify. In some cases, competitors were qualified through nationally-normed assessment and recommendations from a Lewis and Clark instructor. FHSD will have eight of these Straight to State competitors at the state level.

SkillsUSA brings students, teachers, and industry workers together to develop a skilled workforce for the future. They provide educational programs, events, and competitions across the United States.

Congratulations to all of these competitors and good luck at State!
