Francis Howell High School is holding its first annual Future Viking Night on Aug. 18, 2017, at Francis Howell High School. The Vikings will be hosting the Mehlville Panthers for a football game that night, and there’s no better way to introduce students to the FHHS Viking community than to showcase the state-recognized positive atmosphere at their athletic contests.

Every new school year adds a new group of students to the FHHS family, and the Vikings put great emphasis on community and sportsmanship. “At Howell we want to continue to develop and promote a family atmosphere,” said FHHS Activities Director Sean Erwin, “not only in our building, but also within the buildings that send students to Howell. Having students and parents be part of the many great activities and events that take place at Howell is a major part of developing this culture and continuing to grow it.”

FHHS was ranked the No. 10 high school in Missouri by U.S. News & World Report’s Best High School Rankings last year, citing both its excellence and opportunities in academics and athletics. But what really makes FHHS special is its family atmosphere. Their new motto, “Nobody Rides This Ship; We All Row,” exemplifies the attitude of Viking students – together they can accomplish great things. And that means including future Vikings.

At Future Viking Night, students from Castlio, Daniel Boone, John Weldon, Independence, and Warren Elementary, as well as Bryan and Francis Howell Middle, will be admitted free to that evening’s game (this flyer must be brought with the student, along with an accompanying adult). FHHS students will also be admitted free (with their Student ID) that evening.

To welcome these students to the Viking family, those in attendance from each Future Viking School will be recognized at halftime of the game. And over the course of the week, each of these school buildings (in addition to FHHS) will have opportunities to engage with all members of the Viking family.

Erwin said, “We want to continue to promote the Howell brand and the many positive things that take place in our building. Reaching out to the Howell and FHSD communities at large, helps to develop a strong sense of community and pride within Howell and our programs.”

So go ahead and get on the boat and join us for Future Viking Night; but remember to grab an oar – because we all row.
