Creative Writing
This semester-long course will provide 11th and 12th grade students with the opportunity to read and write in various genres, and develop your writing voice outside a strictly academic setting. This is not something that will happen overnight; many of the world’s best authors spent decades refining their style and voice. With that in mind, students will do writing of some kind every day, in order to flex those creative muscles. Students will receive feedback from the teacher and their peers, and use it to refine their work, sometimes multiple times. Together, the teacher and students will work to create a community in which students can give and receive feedback that is encouraging and helps them become confident in their own style.
