Eleven FHSD high school teachers have been selected as AP Readers for this summer and will evaluate the written portion of the AP exam. The teachers applied for the paid opportunity and had to meet rigorous criteria, including at least three years of teaching experience in the specific course they will be reading.
The program provides teachers with an excellent professional development opportunity and a chance to meet others in their teaching area. “I have learned so much about the courses I teach when I participate in the program,” said FHHS social studies teacher Jennifer Tillman. “I know what the College Board is looking for, and it helps to guide me in how I teach and evaluate my students.” In 2019, more than 4,000 colleges and universities around the world received AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, or consideration in the admissions process.
