| FHSD Named 2020 Top Workplace Posted on 09/14/2020 The Francis Howell School District has been named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Top Workplaces list for the seventh time in the past eight years. The District was tenth among the top 15 large employers (employers with 500 or more employees) in the St. Louis area.

| FHHS eSports Places Fourth in 2020 Spring Open Posted on 08/24/2020 Long gone are the days where parents tell their children to stop playing video games and start participating in school extracurriculars. Video games are a Missouri State High School Activities Association (or MSHSAA) sponsored activity. Francis Howell High School, following in the footsteps of Francis Howell Central High School, started their own eSports group – and it’s thriving.

| Canvas Learning Management System – Secondary Level Posted on 07/31/2020 The Francis Howell School District will be utilizing Canvas as our middle and high schools’ online learning management system (LMS). Identified as a priority by internal and external stakeholders as part the District’s strategic planning initiative, teachers will use Canvas as an online learning platform for blended and online teaching and learning. Canvas is scheduled to roll out at the elementary school level in August 2022.

| Transition Day Update Posted on 07/31/2020 Francis Howell School District understands the importance of transitioning our new middle school students and high school students into their new buildings for the 2020-21 school year. Rather than dedicating a specific day prior to the start of the school year, all Francis Howell middle schools and high schools have committed to including transition activities throughout the first week of school (Aug. 31 - Sept. 4) for these students.

| Free and Reduced-Priced Meals Posted on 07/30/2020 Free and reduced-priced breakfast and lunch meals are available for those who qualify in the Francis Howell School District. Research has shown that good nutrition enables students to meet their educational and physical potential. Students must reapply for free and reduced-priced meals every year.

| FHSD Return to School Plan Posted on 07/20/2020 Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the 2019-2020 school year ended abruptly and not the way we wanted. When our schools open this fall, they will look a little different. With this understanding, our task forces developed a Return to School Plan that respects and honors the individual needs of each family.

| FHSD High School Return to Activities/Athletics Guidelines Posted on 06/29/2020 District high school activities and athletics will continue the process of returning to participation when Phase 2 begins on July 1. Student and staff safety is always a top priority of the Francis Howell School District and our schools. These guidelines were developed through the collaborative efforts of the District, medical professionals, and the St. Charles County Health Department.

| FHSD 2020 Bus Inspections Posted on 06/25/2020 The Missouri State Highway Patrol is responsible for conducting annual safety inspections of all school buses across the state. Representatives of the MSHP Motor Vehicle Inspection Section were in Francis Howell on June 17 and 18 to inspect the 191 buses in the FHSD transportation fleet. After a thorough inspection of all systems from bumper to bumper, 189 buses met all required standards for an initial passage rate of 99%. Two buses had minor issues that were repaired quickly, and every FHSD bus passed the final inspection.
