The Francis Howell School District has announced Michael Parker as the interim assistant principal at Francis Howell High School (FHHS), effective July 1, 2020. Parker is replacing Dr. Jessie Altman, who was recently named Director of Adult Learning.
Parker has been a member of the Francis Howell North (FHN) community for nearly 20 years, but he is excited to take on his new role at FHHS. “Francis Howell High has a reputation that speaks for itself. I look forward to beginning this new journey and honoring the rich traditions that have been built over the years,” said Parker. “I cannot wait to work with the students, parents, and staff at Francis Howell to make the educational process a positive and supportive experience for all.”
Parker began his career at FHN in 2003 as a social studies teacher. He has been a LEAP intern, served as interim dean of students, and has been an events manager and assistant activities director. He has been in his current role as dean of students since 2019. He has also previously served as a Model UN club sponsor, varsity football assistant coach, track and field coach, freshman girls soccer coach, and JV head football coach.
Parker has a bachelor’s degree in social science education from Blackburn College and a master’s degree from Lindenwood University.
